Meet Mrs. Arika Rodriguez, a Georgia advocate whose husband is currently incarcerated. Arika’s husband is currently in need of substance abuse treatment. She shares their story of being arrested on conspiracy charges and her being detained while pregnant. Arika’s husband has been incarcerated since the age of 15 yrs old, he was released for 2 months and incarcerated again. She is also the daughter of a man who was formerly incarcerated and passed away in 2016 from an overdose. These experiences led her to advocacy. She enjoys networking and educating others in why they should help those incarcerated. She deals with organizations that fight the whole justice system as well. They educate people about the importance of voting and knowing their rights.
