I found that my concern for a family member to be egotistic. While my motivation was to help my family member improve their actions, I realized that they did not perceive my motivation as helping. They perceived it at my arguing with them. I discuss in this podcast how we must sometimes not judge our empathy's importance to another. Sometimes we must evince loving-detachment and let our families' mistakes be just that, mistakes our loved ones must learn from with our interference.
