The evolution of the sales and marketing landscape has changed dramatically over the years due to access to the internet. Before, there was a specific process to both sales and marketing, but now they have developed into new techniques due to the constant disruptors in the world today.
In this episode of Brand Matter, Vince Freeman and David Schweisthal discuss the changes in sales and marketing, reflect on the past and discuss how the landscape has evolved and continues to evolve throughout the years.
Listen in for:
[Sales]: One thing that hasn’t changed from the very beginning of the sales evolution is people don’t want to be sold. With technology at our fingertips, it makes it easy for people to look up information about a product. Sales people need to adapt and change their techniques to still sell, without it feeling like they are “selling.”
[Marketing]: As years go by, new technology comes out that has disrupted the marketing landscape - from Hulu offering a “no ads” plan to Amazon spoiling everything. New strategies have been developed from year to year, and will continue to change for the future.
