Is the SAT an equitable way of measuring college readiness? In the midst of the current standardized testing debates, the has taken a new format. Simultaneously, colleges are deciding how to factor in the test in their application cycles. In this episode of The Daily Weekly, we unpack the impact of the SAT. 

First, senior content producer Ava Chatlosh interviewed University of Michigan students about standardized testing. The students weigh in on their SAT experiences, thoughts on the new format and opinions on the role of testing in college admissions. Then, content producer Amanda Venclovaite Pirani spoke with Mike Bastedo, professor of education and Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at U-M Marsal Family School of Education, to learn more about the changing role of the SAT. Finally, content producer Luka Todorovic interviewed Johnathan Schwartz, Co-Director of College Counseling at Greenhills School, an Ann Arbor private college-preparatory middle and high school.
