Isaiah 42:1-3 contains a beautiful picture of the coming Servant of God. In that picture God describes this individual in contrast to the idols of the world. What we come to find in this passage is that this Servant Jesus is the only source of security, hope, peace, comfort, and rest for the soul in despair.
