November 13, 2022 . . .

Marriage is a sacred union created by God in which He has given us clear guidance. As we reflect upon I Peter 3:1-7, we are reminded that submission is in many parts of life. We have been given three areas in which we should submit; 1) the home, 2) the church, and 3) the government.  In the home, just as in the church, we have roles to fill. Even through difficult times, a faithful wife can lead her husband to Jesus. Wives should follow God and focus on a gentle, quiet spirit. Husbands, be worthy of your wife. Help her live her life and meet each other’s needs. Listen to each other. Spend time together. Jesus gave us the example of how to live for the church, even giving his life for the church, and that is how we should consider marriage. In Verse 7, we find some specific things that a husband should do for his wife. Give more than you take; listen to her, honor her, and take care of her, “as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers not be hindered.”  The way your treat your spouse is directly related to your relationship with God. Share your good times, bad times, and the grace of God TOGETHER.
