Most Christians are familiar with the Ten Commandments.

In fact, monuments and plaques of the Ten Commandments were posted in public buildings for centuries until recent years.

The Fourth Commandment begins “REMEMBER the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” (Exodus 20:8).

That command was on the tablets God gave to Moses in the fifteenth century BC.

When the New Testament Christian Church began on the day of Pentecost in 31 AD, first-century Christians observed the seventh-day Sabbath.

It was not until the Council of Laodicea in 363 AD that the Roman Church forbade seventh-day Sabbath-keeping, making Sunday the official day of worship, following Emperor Constantine’s empire-wide edict in 321 AD.
