Luke, one of history’s most credible and reliable historians, records that shepherds were the first to witness the arrival of Jesus...but, why shepherds? They were poor, so they couldn't bring any worthwhile gifts to the Messiah. They had no influence with people. They were outcasts of society, so no one would believe them. Of all the people God could have chosen to reveal the birth of His Son to, He chose shepherds. Why shepherds?
