Four observations can be made from this passage about Jesus Christ: 1. The worthiness of Christ is of infinite degree, a superlative nature; he was worthy to take the scroll. 2. Jesus is the source and center of our joy, therefore without him there is only weeping. 3. Jesus is the slaughtered lamb who stands as the hero of this world. 4. Jesus is the lion offered up as the lamb to drive in the nail in sin's final coffin.
