That God uses symbols to teach us is nothing new. He speaks in dreams and parables and even in things like liturgy. With this in mind, we find the Catechism of the Catholic Church dealing with some basic images that teach us about the nature of the Church and we find in them some unique lessons that relate to us about the Christian faith.
