Contrary to popular opinion, when Jesus said He was standing at the door knocking in  Revelation 3:20, He was not addressing sinners. He was speaking to a church that was holding services where He was no longer recognized as the guest of honor. As in Laodicea, so it is today: Religious activity has become a counterfeit for the very presence of Jesus!
