The recurring refrain throughout Acts—that the word of God continued to spread and flourish—becomes even more remarkable when we consider the context: believers were being imprisoned, killed, and scattered, yet the gospel advanced unstoppably. This passage invites us to examine our own response to difficulty: Do we retreat into self-sufficiency, or do we lean into prayer and community? Do we believe that God's purposes can truly overcome every barrier in our lives?
