Welcome to another zoom meeting and podcast of ‘Here’s Tom with the Weather’...where we investigate the plethora of Higher powers that populate the vast universe of Recovery - particularly where the founders of AA encourage us to find some kind of higher power – as long as it’s not us....for example in 3rd Step of the Alcoholics Anonymous 12 STEP programme where it states
‘MADE A DECISION TO TURN OUR WILL AND OUR LIVES OVER TO THE CARE OF GOD, AS WE UNDERSTOOD HIM’
We speak to people with all manner of higher powers - from those who are atheists, sufis, agnostics, Christians, Buddhists, Followers of Islam, Paganists, AND...those who subscribe to NON-DUALITY...we leave no stone unturned...its our aim to promote understanding and open-mindedness so that alcoholics and addicts can find a higher power of their own to stay sober and carry the message.
Please remember that this is not an AA meeting...its just some people’s version of the truth – whatever that may be.
Sometimes we talk to seekers, to gurus and to people not necessarily in recovery ... and today its my honour to introduce you to Trishna Horkan
"Trishna has been A student of Healing for 23 years, she has studied with spiritual teachers in India & the USA including, AMRIT-ananda-mayi Ma "Amma", Chief Wanbli Sapa, Tibetan Buddhist Lamas, Dr. Stanley Haleakala Hew Len, Indigenous Medicine Men & her Shastriji in India. Her approach is humorous, healing and empowering."
Trishna has an intriguing concept of a higher power or Higher PowerS!
She have been studying the Divine Mother academically and spiritually since 1988 (when I was 2 years stark raving sober)
In 1998, her Shastriji in Rajasthan, unbeknownst to her initiated me as a clairvoyant.
The Lakota have her the name "looks in the future woman"
She is also interested in Bill Wilson's psychic journey and beliefs from the AS conference approved biography PASS IT ON the story of Bill Wilson and how the AA message reached the world.
