For well over 100 years, The Cliff House at Pikes Peak has been welcoming guests. Recently, my wife and I had the pleasure of experiencing the luxurious charm of this historic property in Manitou Springs, Colorado. This stately five-story building is an architectural gem in a state with several other excellent historical hotels of the era. In the 1870s, citizens from the eastern part of the US and beyond came out west, trying to cure tuberculosis. It was said that the dry, cool air in the West could cure tuberculosis.
