Ok so the man in the box is a creature that Can give people these symbols that appear on their skin. It gives them power. They're not all the same. And there hereditary, which means if a character has any children, their power becomes stronger than the last. And this is where Mack Morningstar comes in. He is a mafia boss who got wrapped up in this supernatural shit a long time ago, and his old friend Frank "gunsmen" Oliver with Mack's sons and they're trying to find the source of these portals opening.
