Wood Mackenzie, a world renowned leading forecaster, predicts that the huge volumes of coal that will come out of the untapped Galilee Basin in the next 20 years will be at the expense of existing coal regions in New South Wales and Queensland where output will be displaced, mines shelved, and thousands of jobs lost.
