The word Commitment carries so much meaning. It could be able to make plans, finding a new job, buying property, being with someone in an exclusive relationship. The way dating works means implies that you and someone else are going to be together, with only each other in a bond. Developing feelings can be hard. It can be scary. In today's culture, commitment is the last thing people look for. 

Christ invites us into commitment, as scary as it may be, the lack of a relationship with Christ is far more terrifying.
