It is no

secret that the world we live in is in desperate need of the power and

intervention of Jesus Christ.  We live in

a busted and broken world that seems to grow more dismal every day.  What does the Bible say the church can do

about this?  We are the body of Christ,

but I believe we don’t appreciate the grand design in God’s plan to express

Himself to this world through the church. 

If the world needs an encounter with Jesus, by what path will they

encounter Him?  What will be the conduit

that delivers His power to the world that needs it?  Jesus created the church, and the church has

a specific function.  We’ve got work to

do.  As we dig into the opening of Paul’s

letter to the church at Ephesus, let’s see where we fit into Jesus’s grand plan

of ministry in the church age.
