The Confucius Institute: China Initiatives Series Part Two

Join host Fred McIlvain in a discussion with Mariko Silver, Director of Strategic Projects, Office of the President and Dr. Stephen H West, Director of the Center for Asian Research and Co-Director of the Confucius Institute as they discuss the opening of the Confucius Institute at ASU as well as other strategic initiatives with China.
 
In conjunction with the opening of the Confucius Institute, the ASU Libraries will host the Confucius Institute Exhibition debuting Oct. 8 on the Tempe campus in the Noble Science and Engineering Library. The Confucius Institute Exhibition will contain artifacts from China, as well as display photos and information about Confucius and his influence on Chinese history and culture, and showcase the Sichuan province and its capital city, Chengdu. It will also convey the importance of the Confucius Institute collaboration between the two universities, feature Sichuan University and its libraries, and highlight ASU’s Center for Asian Research.
