The Consequences of Unfaithfulness
Today’s Scripture:
1 Chronicles 10:13-14 NIV
Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance, [14] and did not inquire of the Lord. So the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.
These verses discuss the fall of King Saul and his sons in battle against the Philistines, leading to the end of Saul's reign and setting the stage for David's rise to kingship. In addition, This passage highlights the consequences of Saul's unfaithfulness to God because he fails to obey God's commands. This resulted in the loss of his kingdom.
There are serious consequences family for turning away from God and doing what we want to do instead of what God told us to do. Saul's failure to follow God's instructions and his reliance on ungodly counsel led to his demise. In our lives, we must be vigilant to seek God's guidance and adhere to His word.
There will always be consequences for our unfaithfulness to God. Unfaithfulness to God equals exposure to the enemy and death. God will always remain faithful. Family, obedience to God result in his faithfulness towards us, they are new every morning, and they never run out. Obey him and walk in his divine protection.
