Persecution was increasing. Saul thought he was stomping out the church in Jerusalem. He was actually spreading the gospel and causing the Jerusalem church to multiply at a faster rate. Something was about to happen that no one could have predicted. Saul's zeal of persecution was about to be stopped by a direct intervention of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
