Instead of learning, Lance loved the theatre, the stage and the abundant attention of many girls. By age 16, Lance was succeeding in his social life, but failing at so badly at public school that his father pulled him out and forced him to go to Valley Forge Military Academy. Suddenly Lance found himself in an all-boys military boarding school, complete with hazing, armed guards, military barracks, and student officers lording over the rest of the students. It was like being in the Marine Corps! In this miserable context, Lance prayed to God for help.

Then the unexpected happens: two 'Jesus Freaks' mysteriously make their way onto his military campus and share the 'Four Spiritual Laws' with him. Lance is confronted with his own sinfulness, so he prays with them. As he is praying, Jesus invades his very being. Instantly, Lance was born again and tangibly filled with God.
