The Cost Of Discipleship (Luke 14:25-33)
What should we expect of the Christian life? Some Christians believe that the Christian is continual blessing. Some Christians imagine the Christian life to a bit like an Air Asia optional extra, we add on if we have time on our busy schedule. Some expect the Christian life to be a life of victory. In our passage today, Jesus gives us a very different picture of the Christian life: one of suffering sacrificial service that will be costly, and demand everything.
