Toxic perfectionism is seen so often nowadays, especially in schools and jobs! Wanting to do things well is positive, but it becomes harmful when it is an obsession or a need to be perfect. This chronic perfectionism can hold us back from trying new things because we are afraid to fail and make mistakes. Mistakes are a good thing, but society has trained us to believe that mistakes are bad and should be avoided. We have to remember that we are simply human and that imperfection is part of the learning process.
