After the events in the garden between Adam, the woman and the serpent, God made quite a curious declaration. He said he would put enmity between the serpent and the woman, and between the serpent’s offspring and the Offspring of the woman.

This statement clues us into the battle that would last for millennia between the offspring of the woman and the serpent. When John the Herald and Jesus came around, they brought additional information about this battle when they referred to Pharisees and Sadducees as “a Brood of Vipers”
