Leo's train is stopped at the Polish border. Security is heightened. Men in nondescript uniforms board, scanning passengers. They seem to be looking for someone. Leo feels a prickle of fear. He hears one speak into a radio: "The package is mobile." He realizes he's the package. He flees the train just before it departs, now stranded in the countryside.
