Imagine standing in a courtroom, guilty of a serious crime. The evidence is clear. There’s no denying it. Now imagine the judge looks at you and says, "You seem like a good person overall. I’ll just let you go." Would that be a good judge? Of course not. A good judge has to uphold justice. Now think about God. We all like the idea that God is loving. But if God is truly good, He must also be just. That means sin can’t simply be overlooked. And deep down, we know we’re not perfect. We’ve all done things we regret… things we know are wrong. So where does that leave us? Here’s the surprising part. God didn’t ignore justice. He satisfied it. Jesus took our sin upon Himself. He suffered, died, and rose again on the third day. And He says if you’ll repent and trust in Him, you will be forgiven... completely. That’s how God can be both perfectly just and perfectly merciful at the same time. That's not guilt. That's grace.
