Lighting Your Path

The Covenant and the Good Shepherd

Listen Later

Apostle Allison Smith Conliff focuses on themes of divine connectionfaithfulness, and the power of covenant. The Apostle emphasizes the importance of community networking and brotherly love, sharing personal testimonies of financial restoration and providential travel to illustrate God's favor. Central to the message is the exhortation for believers to live with integrity and a clear conscience, avoiding "folly" and worldly compromises. By citing biblical figures like David and Mephibosheth, the Minister encourages the congregation to trust in God’s timing and protection against evil. Summarily, it serves as a call to spiritual steadfastness, promising a heavenly reward for those who remain dedicated to their faith.

Key Points:

The everlasting covenant empowers individuals to overcome earthly trials and evil by shifting the spiritual power balance on earth and providing internal strength through divine grace. This covenant was established through the blood of Jesus and His resurrection, which allows believers to be "grafted into the vine" and possess dominion over the kingdom of darkness.

In several specific ways this covenant provides empowerment:

  • Dominion and Authority: The covenant grants believers "power over all the powers of the enemy," meaning that no external force can hold an individual hostage because the power within them is capable of breaking spiritual chains. This shift ensures that "sin will not have dominion" over the believer unless they choose to be ruled by it.
  • Internal Transformation: The covenant works within the individual to make them "perfect in every good work"so they can fulfill God's will. By adhering to the covenant, individuals are empowered to "walk, run, and dance in victory" if they choose to cut away things that separate them from God.
  • Endurance through Trials: While life inevitably includes "pain," "disappointment," and "testing," the covenant ensures that individuals are "more than conquerors". The Apostle emphasizes that God is a "covenant keeping God" who will neither leave nor forsake the believer during these difficult times.
  • Protection from Evil: The covenant includes a promise that God will "keep you from all evil" and preserve the individual in their "going out and in their coming in". This protection acts as a "hedge of protection" against loss, damage, trauma, and "wicked spirits".
  • The Power of Community: Empowerment also comes through networking and "corporate anointing". The Apostle conveys that individuals sometimes cannot overcome trials alone and must connect with others to break the things "that came to break you".

To maintain this empowerment, Apostle Allison stresses that individuals must take personal responsibility for their well-being by living honorably, maintaining a "good conscience," and refusing to "clutch folly" or compromise their faith for worldly gains. Ultimately, the covenant empowers the believer to stand their ground and declare the name of the Lord above any arising situation.
