The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. Alabama Amazon employees are conducting a historic vote on unionizing this week in Alabama. Jeff Bezos's progeny has steadfastly resisted calls to accept unionization, claiming they have the best treated slaves of any plantation. They employed all manner of propaganda in pleading their case. Also, we've endured 12+ months of covid-19 disruptions of the workplace. This week Facebook, Uber, and Microsoft and Google and a number of other businesses announced that employees should plan to return to the office at some point later in this year. Many held out hopes that remote work, or at least a "hybrid" system may be a possibility for the future. With the rush to return to a "normal" work environment, a number of businesses are also offering incentives for workers to get vaccinated. Be wise about your health.
