When we think of photography we at times tend to think of fashion magazines, journalism, weddings, or street photography. But how often do we think about photography as a means of self-expression, an artistic medium, a political tool, or a catalyst for change? Well one person thought about all of that and more, this episode's guest Kannetha Brown.  Kannetha's photographic work is social commentary, self expression, and at the same time a reflection of her own upbringing.  In this episode I sit down with Kannetha and talk about photography as fine art, how artistic mediums can bring empowerment, why representation is important, why film must be preserved, why certain photographic formats have a political history, shooting for rolling stone, and being an award winning photographer at 22.
