Flint began her career as a New York playwright before moving to L.A. and getting her start in television on the pilot of the critically acclaimed war drama, “China Beach” – a series that centered around Nurse Coleen McMurphy (Dana Delany) and the women, soldiers and medical personnel of an American R&R evacuation hospital during the Vietnam War.  While on the production team, she worked her way up from an unpaid intern to the producer – earning two Emmy nominations in the process for the show’s final season. Markus got his start in television with a spec script for the hit ABC/NBC series “Taxi,” before transitioning into a six-year stint as writer and showrunner for “The Cosby Show,” serving as lead producer for all five seasons that the show was the #1 most-watched series in the United States! His penned episodes include “Theo and the Joint,” “Theo’s Holiday,” “The Birth” and the legendary Gordon Gartrelle-tailored “A Shirt Story.” In addition to “Cosby,” Markus garnered two additional Emmy nominations as a writer/producer for “The Larry Sanders Show” in 1997.

Fontana first got a start in television with the NBC medical drama "St. Elsewhere," starring William Daniels, Howie Mandel and Denzel Washington. The series aired from 1982-1988, ending with one of the most infamous series finales in television history. Fontana later created the critically acclaimed "Homicide Life on the Street," which aired on NBC from 1992 - 1999, before moving to HBO to create and showrun the groundbreaking prison drama "Oz.

Best known as the co-creator of the Disney Channel hit series "That's So Raven" and "Hannah Montana," the entertainment veteran has a career spanning decades, with beloved classics such as "The Facts of Life" and "Saved by the Bell" under his belt. On this episode of “The Creative Eccentric,” host Kenny Murry welcomes Children’s and Family Emmy-nominated writer, producer, director and author D.J. MacHale. The entertainment industry veteran first got his start in television as a writer for after-school specials on network television before finding his niche in cable children’s programming. MacHale is best known for his work as creator and showrunner of “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” a horror anthology series for Nickelodeon that aired 91 episodes from 1992 to 2000. In addition to his work on television, including the hit Wonderful World of Disney cult classic “Tower of Terror,” MacHale is also known as the author behind the young adult book series Pendragon and Morpheus Road.

In the premiere episode of “The Creative Eccentric,” host Kenny Murry sits down with two-time Emmy-nominated writer, producer and author George Pelecanos. The acclaimed scribe started his television career as a staff writer on the HBO series “The Wire,” before going on to collaborate with series creator David Simon on “Treme,” “The Deuce” and “We Run This City.” In addition to his screen work, Pelecanos is best known in the literary world as the creator of the Derrick Strange series, a collection of best-selling crime fiction novels centered around the titular African American private investigator. The newest book in the series, “The Blue Flame,” is available beginning Aug. 4.
