The VISION that God gave BFBC [Pastor Larry] is TOO BIG FOR ONE MAN …

-  I am a PART of that dream …. “HELP HIM” … FULFILL “HIS”

- EVERY pastor / leader / helper / member … is a PART of that VISION

- Ephesians 4:16 [NLT] He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As EACH PART

does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy

and growing and full of love.

LOOK AT Joshua and Caleb

- The ONLY 2 that got to go into the PROMISE LAND of that generation of Israelites

Joshua 14:7-12

JOSHUA:

Joshua was the NEXT LEADER after Moses

- Those were BIG SHOES to fill

Joshua 11:15 As the LORD had commanded Moses His servant, so Moses commanded Joshua,

and SO JOSHUA DID. He left NOTHING UNDONE of ALL that the LORD had commanded Moses.

- This was the HEART OF LEADERSHIP

- JOSHUA was concerned about making sure the VISION GOD GAVE MOSES was

“completed”

- NOT … figuring out HIS OWN VISION and PLAN

THIS was the HEART OF THE GENERATION that was going into the PROMISED LAND WITH A

NEW LEADER:

Joshua 1:16-18 16  So they answered Joshua, saying, “ALL that you command us we will do, and

wherever you send us we will go.  17  Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only

the LORD your God be with you, as He was with Moses.  18  Whoever rebels against your command and

does not heed your words, in all that you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and of

good courage.”

People stress TIMING and PREPARATION: Both of these are important … HOWEVER

- These should not be the basis for PROCRASTINATION and NEGLECT

MOST people walk into a church with the MINDSET OF: “What will this church do for ME”

-CHURCH is about learning how to develop a SERVING MENTALITY … from which God WILL

in turn meet “YOUR” needs

- We are a CHURCH AS A FORCE … we come here to get HEALED – RESTORED –

REFRESHED – EQUIPPED – EDIFIED … to go back out and help “OTHERS”
