In Part 2 of this incredibly insightful conversation with Western Australia off-spinner Corey Rocchiccioli, we covered the Mental, Emotional, Physical and Lifestyle pillars.
We were absolutely blown away by the level of detail Corey goes to in his training and preparation, which allows him to manage his emotions and perform under pressure when it counts most out in the middle.
This is comfortably the most valuable and insightful conversation we have ever had on The Cricket Mentoring Podcast!

Corey Rocchiccioli is pushing to be Australia's next Test spinner having been the leading spin-bowler in Sheffield Shield cricket the past two seasons. But it's not been a straight-forward journey to become Western Australia's first choice spinner. At 18, 'Roc' was playing 4th grade and after changing grade clubs he was the 7th choice spinner at University CC. But through "being naive", a sheer love of cricket, curiosity and an incredible work ethic, Roc has become instrumental in Western Australia's back to back to back Sheffield Shield victories and is well and truly on the radar of the Aussie selectors.
This is an inspiring story and one that has so much to still come.
Stay tuned for apart 2, where we dig deeper into the Mental, Emotional, Physical & Lifestyle Pillars of Success.

Liam Blackford has always had a bright future in the game. He first represented Victoria and Under 12s and his junior career was filled with selection national team after national team all through the age groups. In 2019 alone, as a 15-year-old, he captained Victoria Country at the 15 & Under National Championships, represented the Cricket Australia Under 16s at the National Under 17 Championships, and then represented the Cricket Australia Under 18s at the National Under 19. Championships. He made his First Grade debut for Geelong as a 16-year-old and scored 97 on debut for Victoria in Second XI at the age of 18. He was then awarded a 2-year Rookie Contract by Cricket Victoria and it looked like a fairy tale rise to the top.
Until something major happened in July 2023 that not only threatened playing cricket again but potentially his life. Liam missed the whole of the 23/24 Australian season but has thankfully made a full recovery (after many major surgeries) and has just made a return to playing.
This is an amazing story of someone who stayed positive throughout the toughest of times.

Adam Voges had an exceptional career as a player and in a short time as a coach, has already achieved some remarkable things. His Western Australian team have won both the Sheffield Shield Title and One Day Cup for the past 3 seasons while the Perth Scorchers won back to back titles meaning his teams have won 8 of the last 9 domestic trophies. This success has inevitably meant 'Vogesy' is expected to be the next coach of Australia by many people in the know.
This was an awesome chat about Vogesy's coaching career, his coaching philosophies, coaching in the recent IPL, building a sustainable winning culture, the traits he looks for in young players, mindset, perfectionism, parenting athletes and a whole lot more.
