(Air Date 4/8/24) Throughout the country, recent policies have been passed that are essentially rolling back efforts to reform the criminal justice system. Much of that policy change is driven by data and perception of crime. This includes influences at home, in the media, places of worship and beyond. Our guests are Professors Charis Kubrin of UC Irvine, and David Ikard of Vanderbilt University and they paint a vivid reality of media distortion of data, correlations between domestic violence risk factors and these policies, and our own internal bias around crime. Do not miss this fascinating episode.
