At the intersection of creative writing and creativity is the vexed question of defining creativity. Therefore this presentation does not offer one single definition of the term. It identifies and critiques two broad sub-groups that are currently circulating in the global discourse: those epitomised by works looking at the creative mind, albeit within a specific socio-political context; and those dealing with management and policy. It then discusses the relevance of psychoanalysis for studying the creative component of creative writing. DataBlitz on Creativity was held on 26 July 2013.
