After the fall, man became spiritually dead—separated from God (Ephesians 2:1). He took on the nature of sin, lost dominion, and became utterly helpless. Sin is not just actions—it is the nature of living independent of God.
So, why Christ?
Because man could not save himself.
Because Jesus is both God and man—God enough to save, man enough to die.
Because His sacrifice carries infinite value.
Because He is sinless.
Why did Christ have to die?
Sin required payment—blood (Leviticus 17:11).
God’s justice had to be satisfied (Romans 6:23).
He took our place (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness (Hebrews 9:22).
Jesus didn’t just die—He died physically, spiritually (bearing separation), and willingly (John 10:18).
Through His blood, we have:
Reconciliation.
Redemption.
Justification.
Through the Cross:
We are forgiven (Ephesians 1:7).
We have new life—not an upgrade, but a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).
We are justified and reconciled to God.
We are free from sin.
This is the reality of the believer.
We are no longer condemned or separated—we are alive in Christ.
