This podcast tackles the topic of perisurigical anesthesia in the setting of mental illness. We discuss the considerations for patients on psychiatric medications and how that may affect anesthesia. We spend additional time discussing the discrepancy between review articles and published trials. High yield information is discussed with regards to NMS and Serotonin Syndrome. This was originally intended to be a lead-in to the discussion of PTSD treatment with Ketamine (stay tuned!). The way our review of the topic unfolded was so interesting to us, that we broke it off into a separate podcast. We enjoyed our discussion and hope you find it as  interesting as we did!
