Beginning on page 29, we will continue discussing the issue of identity. The moment we believed in Christ, we were changed; we received a new identity. Our old identifiers were replaced by one amazing identity which is not contingent on behavior -- child of God. Through the disobedience of Adam, mankind was made sinners. Through the work of Jesus Christ, however, we are made a child of God through faith in Him. Once you fully understand your change of identity, then your behavior will begin to be consistent with who you are. Embrace the truth of John 1:12-13 "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God -- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God." This is good news!
