The Crown of a Mom: Holding on to Hope
A huge thank you to the beautiful Maggie! Gracias Mujer, for sharing your experience with loss and stillbirths. Your story was so powerful and I am sure someone out there will find healing through your experience and transparency with your ups and downs throughout your journey.
I want to take this space to also speak to all women out there who have experienced stillbirths. We are sharing space in order to hold that space for all those who want to heal, want to share and want to grow from painful experiences. Remember that you are still a mother, you can grieve your own way and we all have different paths. please do not ever limit your healing to the "right way" and instead trust that you are beautiful, valuable and powerful even at your darkest. Maggie wanted to share a personal letter to her angel baby whose birthday just passed, see it below.
"Dear Ollie,
Happy Birthday Dear, I thought I’ll honor your life & Your brothers by sharing part of our story today, in hopes that we can uplift someone who’s unable to find peace. I say peace because that’s what your name represents and that’s what you’ve been meaning to give me over the years time and time again. It shows up in many forms, but You always show up as Blissful Peace.
Mama Loves you and misses you so much, every day. You would’ve been 5 today and I still remember how I held you in my arms while you slowly passed away. I remember your warm body against my chest, how you struggled to breathe and how paralyzed I was to feel you fading away so I held you tight while repeating over and over again, “I love you, mom loves you. You’re beautiful.”
You shed one single tear for me before passing away. I’ll never forget how that made me feel. The delicate mole that was created on the left side of your bottom lip reminds me of the one I have but on the right. You’re part of me as much as I am part of you. I know you’re happy, Running around in Heaven with Matt’s, I can only imagine the mischievous things you two have done. I say that because Ezra and Gael can be a hot mess, and you two wouldn’t have been any different. I know you’re both looking down at us and even in the not so good moments you get to witness us in, you, whisper peace & gifts in the chaos.
So today, your brothers and I celebrated you and live a little more than usual,
Until we meet again Dear,
Mother loves you Deeply!"
