A troubled Marine veteran seeks solitude in the remote Appalachian wilderness, following his grandfather's cryptic map notation to an unmapped location called Crying Hollow. Haunted by combat nightmares and desperate to escape the crowds of modern hiking trails, he ventures into this forgotten canyon despite ominous warnings spray-painted on trail signs. What he discovers in the granite-walled hollow—with its eerily silent river and premature darkness—challenges everything he thought he knew about isolation. As night falls, he realizes some places are unmarked on maps for very good reasons, and true solitude comes at a price few are prepared to pay.
