Adapted from Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1838 short story Lady Eleanore’s Mantle, this Weird Circle episode tells the eerie tale of pride, vanity, and supernatural punishment. Lady Eleanore Rochcliffe, the governor’s niece, arrives in Boston wearing a luxurious, mysterious mantle rumoured to be cursed. Her arrogance and cold disdain for others soon alienate the townspeople—especially her fiancé, George Helwyse, who warns her of the mantle’s dark power.
