Bernie Sanders Turned an Instagram Rant Into a Data Center Bill Nobody Will Pass

Sanders and AOC dropped a bill to halt all new data center construction until Congress passes AI regulation. The market is already supply-constrained – Microsoft alone has $80 billion in unfulfilled Azure orders because it can’t find enough electricity. Freezing the supply side doesn’t reduce demand. It just locks in the incumbents and pushes construction offshore where there are zero environmental rules.
