Work isn't always a good pleasurable gift. If it was a good thing, why does it sometimes feel so bad and something we dread? In Genesis, we are reminded that the environment of our work has become difficult. However, after putting in the hard work we can trust God with the results. Our security should be in God who provides abundantly all our needs and not in our work (Genesis 3:6-19)
