Isaiah 65:17. In Isaiah 65:17, the Lord says, For behold, I create new heavens
and a new earth,
and the former things shall not be remembered
or come into mind.
The Lord promises that He will make all things new. What joy it is to hear these words in the midst of the suffering and sorrow we see in the world around us. There is coming a time when He will remove the former things of the earth that are terrible and displeasing to Him and He will make all things new. The final verse of this chapter of Isaiah’s prophecy reminds us that the wolf and the lamb shall graze together. The lion will eat straw like the ox and the dust shall be the serpent’s foot. They shall not hurt or destroy in all of the Lord’s holy mountain. A time of peace is coming for those who are found in Christ. When you experience sorrow, look ahead to the soon coming promise of the peace of Christ.
