The debut episode of “This American Negro” podcast will be exploring the trope of the Damsel in Distress and how that has afforded white women this air of innocence, but also gets to participate in violence and white supremacy. We will be using scholarly research, media clips, and pop culture to explain why white women are given this wave of innocence, but also get some tips to unlearn and critique more effectively by the end of the episode. Be more careful when one decides to defend whiteness before your own at times or interrogate how you got to that arena.
