Larry Lawton is a former criminal who became a well-known author and public speaker. In the 1980s and 1990s, he was a professional jewel thief who stole millions of dollars' worth of diamonds and watches. After being caught and serving 11 years in federal prison, he decided to change his life.

Since his release, Lawton has focused on helping young people avoid the mistakes he made. He created a program called "Reality Check" to show teens the harsh, dangerous, and restrictive reality of life behind bars. Because of his work in crime prevention, he became the first former convict to be sworn in as an honorary police officer in the United States. Today, he shares his story and analyzes famous movie robberies on his YouTube channel to educate the public.
