The Danger of Not Valuing Jesus

The presence of a grudging attitude towards Christ and His work in the world is always a warning sign of danger to oneself and danger to others from a heart not valuing Jesus.-1. The grave fact of the betrayal by Judas, who despite being chosen by Jesus to be one of His twelve disciples, revealed his heart's false profession when he held back from serving Jesus, and now turned back from serving Jesus, in contrast to the woman who revealed her heart's true profession when she anointed Jesus. -v.10a--2. The unhumorous scene that after Judas had just witnessed her beautiful and extravagant anointing of Jesus, he departed at once from there in order to offer to provide to His killers the key information to deliver over Jesus quietly, which convinced them to arrest Jesus during the feast, in exchange for their promise of silver. -v.10b--3. The grim evidence that partially motivated by greed, Judas began seeking how-when to turn Jesus over to the religious leaders motivated by murderous hatred and their need for stealth to avoid an uproar. -v.11--Why is our own response to Jesus so telling---What question did Jesus often ask His disciples-- Luke 9-20-Who must be careful about love of money-- 2 Tim 6-10, Mt. 6-24-If a heart is thieving, what will be the actions-- John 12-6
