The title says it all -Dare - take risks! Becky Blalock clearly lays out the strategy and execution to define your goals and dreams and then be both bold and determined in delivering them. She gives examples from her own life and that of others that illustrate how to do this and the benefits in doing so. Though the title and the message are built around taking risks, Ms. Blalock gives heart-felt and genuine advice on overcoming the fears and obstacles that sometimes stop us from daring to go after our dreams.
Breaking out of mid-management is easier than you think!
I am loving this book and was honored to be interviewed for it . Knowing Becky I knew it would be good but I had not idea it would be terrific. Some of the best advice I have ever read and wish I had a book like this when I started out. But it not just for starting a career - does not matter what age - a woman and even smart male leaders will hugely benefit from practical, level headed highly experience advice that is relevant today and will be many years from now. World class insights on how to manage very difficult situations to simply making yourself more visible in a smart way and how to use that help others. These pearls of wisdom not only offer tools but real world lessons we can use in every part of life. It also reminded me of things I need to do more of and have forgotten along the way. It has re-inspired me in some ways and has made me realize how fortunate we are to be career women that can make a real and lasting impact on our business, politics, community and family - ways to leave a legacy we can be so very proud of. Thanks Becky for this masterpiece - its an amazing gift for the thousands of men and women who will profit by it for themselves and in turn, others!
A Most Important Book
After reading a review, I bought this book for my granddaughter who is a Junior at university. After reading it, I was even more convinced that this book could be the most important book that she could read in her life. The book is replete with examples of real-world situations that one will likely encounter in actual organizational dynamics, whether in corporate or public sector environments. The book is well written and will engage the reader's attention throughout. Upon completion, I then recommended the book to two nieces who are in the respective fields of corporate Business Development and Education in the public sector.
