Disney's new Pinocchio movie starring Tom Hanks drops September 8th and is undoubtedly going to show a very 2022 interpretation of the classic story. But the original story of Pinocchio written by Italian author Carlos Collodi had some very dark moments that definitely did not make it into the movies!  With an additional Pinocchio Movie coming out on Netflix directed by Guillermo del Toro, a Pinocchio K Drama, and the upcoming Pinocchio Video Game “Lies of P”—the Italian tale is having a bit of a renaissance--so what better time to dive into the somewhat twisted story?
