
“The Darkest Time” – A Piano Instrumental for Good Friday and Easter Sunday



I recorded this solo piano improvisation on Saturday morning, April 20, 2019.   This is the “in-between” dark time during the traditional Holy Week.   Yesterday was Good Friday and Christians remember that as being when Jesus was crucified.   Today is the second day, Saturday.   Jesus’ body is in the tomb.  The disciples are stunned.   It’s the darkest time in history.   Everything they’d hoped for vanished.



Did anyone still have hope?Did anyone remember that He promised He would rise again?



I can only imagine how much sorrow, fear, and anguish the followers of Jesus Christ felt during this time.   Yet, we know from the Bible and history that tomorrow, on the third day, the tomb will be empty and Jesus has risen.



My hope is that this interlude will be a part of your time of reflection on Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.

I’m finally back in the studio and after a few months’ hiatus (again), I’m happy to be releasing a new piano interlude for my Worship Interludes Podcast.   I called this one “Morning Coffee” – having my coffee in the morning with my quiet time is one of my favorite parts of the day.

“Time to Listen” – Peaceful, Relaxing Solo Piano Music for Prayer, Meditation, Reflection, Relaxing



Last night I was listening to an Atlanta Braves baseball game on the radio.  In between innings there was a commercial which was a short devotion by a pastor.   The short 30-second devotion reminded us that God often speaks in a still, small voice and that we don’t typically hear Him unless we slow down, make ourselves quiet, and listen.



It inspired me to finally sit down and record again for the first time in over 2 months.



This short, 5-minute interlude should help you slow down, quieten yourself, and listen …

“At Peace” – Solo Piano Improvisation Background Music for Prayer, Meditation, Relaxation, Worship



I decided to forego the pads and extra layers of sound this morning and just record the pure, simple piano.    The Key of Eb is one of my favorite keys and is where I began.   This morning was a sweet time of worship for me.  I sang to my Lord spontaneously and prayed as I played throughout this improvisation.   It just felt sweet and peaceful to me.

“Pursuit” – Piano Instrumental Interlude for Prayer, Meditation, Relaxation, Worship, Mindfulness



Welcome to episode #266 of my Worship Interludes Podcast.    This episode is called “Pursuit” and is in the key of G-minor.   The interlude lasts nearly eight minutes.    I suppose it’s the nature of the minor key and the melody that came forth as I was recording, but this interlude has a pressing, trial-like vibe.



When we are in pursuit of something, it’s often a long, hard journey.   I have set some personal goals for 2022 and although I’m already encouraged by the results I’m seeing, I also realize it’s going to be a long journey.   I”m in pursuit of something – and it may take a while!



I hope this interlude will help you pray, meditate, or just simply relax and focus on your next steps.   Perhaps that next step is nothing more than being aware and grateful for where you are in your journey today.
